I can remember the day I found out my children had multiple food allergies (wheat, corn, eggs, dairy, soy, and peanuts). I realized that everything I had been giving them to eat was making them sick. It didn’t take long to figure out that there was no help out there for people with food restrictions. I even went to a nutritionist, but they didn’t have any step-by-step practical information regarding how to transition into an allergy-free diet. By trial and error, I found my way to planning meals and shopping for the right kinds of foods. I was overwhelmed. It took a lot of time, experimentation, and a little help along the way, but I learned a whole new way of how to shop and prepare foods. But even after I became more experienced, I realized that the amount of cooking I had to do on a daily basis was daunting, even for a stay-at-home mom. There was nowhere to pick up food quickly on those days when I didn’t have the time to cook.
The idea of Rosie’s Plate began when I discovered my passion for wanting to help others who struggle to keep up with the demands of cooking everything themselves, as well as the lack of other sources of safe and delicious fresh foods for people on special diets. I also wanted to provide fresh food free of preservatives and as healthy and natural as possible.
Rosie’s Plate is the culmination of my desire to provide for others what I couldn’t find for myself. We are proud to offer this service for families and individuals who have limited options. Please feel free to e-mail rose@rosiesplate.com or call us at 919-833-0505 should you have any questions or if we can help
you with your next meal.
